A classic Mediterranean city, full of little alleys in the old town next to the port, beautiful!

The lighthouse stands out in the port, shedding its light on the seawater, making visitors feel like they’re enjoying their drinks or coffee in some other era. The old town is built around the Venetian port, which is still surrounded by the Venetian walls built in 1538.

The city is considered one of the most beautiful in the Mediterranean and is called “Eastern Venice”. In the port lies also the Higher Commissioner’s palace from the time of the Cretan State and other archaeological sites dating back to the Minoic era.

No matter where you go inside the old port, little alleys full of life and little shops with souvenirs and local traditional products are everywhere.
