Mountain climbing in Kalymnos
Kalymnos is one of the most popular mountain-climbing destinations in the world. There are about 550 mountain trails offering endless possibilities of sport climbing for unprecedented experiences. Difficulty levels begin at 4c and go up to 9c for more experienced climbers. Since 2010 there is an indoor climbing space that aims at the training of beginner climbers, the preservation and renovation of the existing mountain climbing routes of the island. The island’s climate is ideal for climbing from the beginning of March till the end of October, since there are many shady spots and few rains. Kalymnos is a challenge for mountain-climbing enthusiasts. A few years ago the Kalymnos Rock Climbing Festival was also initiated.
